The Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R is a race car designed for FIA GT3 competition worldwide. It’s constructed by Callaway Competition of Leingarten, Germany, under exclusive authorization by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors.
The car is powered by an 8-cylinder, 90-degree V, aluminum engine with iron sleeves. The engine displacement is 6245 cc (381 cid) and it produces between 500 to 525 horsepower, depending on the inlet air restrictor. The engine management is programmable by Bosch.
The car’s body is made entirely of carbon fiber and it weighs less than 2,800 lbs. The dimensions of the car are 2042 mm in width, 2713 mm in wheelbase, and 4592 mm in overall length. The homologation weight is 1240 kg (2734 lb).
The drivetrain includes a carbon driveshaft, Sachs racing clutch, and a rear-mounted X-Trac 6-speed sequential gearbox with a MEGA-line paddle shift actuator. The suspension features an independent double wishbone configuration with a Bilstein adjustable race damper system. The brakes are Brembo 390/330mm ventilated rotors with forged aluminum calipers. The wheels are OZ Racing, forged aluminum – 12.5" x 18" front, 13" x 18" rear.
